Stoneroos develops Glashart Media UI

January 10, 2011 13.18 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Dutch based Stoneroos has developed the new user interface (UI) for FttH provider Glashart Media. The new TV menu looks much more attractive and has an integrated Electronic Program Guide (EPG) and Personal Video Recorder (PVR) functionality.

Glashart Media provides digital TV through various service providers to approximately 30,000 consumers in The Netherlands over fibre. Stoneroos develops applications for digital TV and specialises in the development of digital television guides, including its own personal TV guide iFanzy, available online and on the iPhone.

The collaboration between Glashart and Stonneroos has been around for some time. The iFanzy guide has been running since the beginning of 2010 on Glashart and will now gradually will be replaced by the newly developed customised UI.

The new Glashart Media EPG has been developed from the ground up in the Opera browser for the Amino set-top box (110/130). Glashart has also made the HD box from Amino (532) available, complete with a PVR.

Following the launch, Stoneroos will develop, including a number of TV apps, an EPG version for mobile devices and online, as well as the possibility to control the set-top box remotely while away from home. Also planned are a search functionality, integration with social networks and personal programme recommendations based on an individual and a common viewer profile.
