The provision of internet services generated the biggest increases in both revenues and subscriber numbers last year for Romania’s Digital Cable Systems (DCS), according to its general manager Dinu Malacopol.
Quoted in ZF, he added that it was still too early to provide final data for 2010 for both DCS, which employs the brand name AKTA, and its sister company Dial Telecom. However, their total turnover is expected to be almost €35 million.
DCS is Romania’s third largest cable company after RCS/RDS and UPC and also operates one of its five DTH platforms.
Both it and Dial Telecom, which targets business clients, are backed by AIG.
