The Hungarian national commercial broadcaster TV2 has launched a new thematic channel. Known as PRO4, it offers a mix of movies and TV series and targets male viewers aged 18-49, though with a special focus on the 25-34 age group.
PRO4 has already secured carriage on the T-Home IPTV and Sat DTH platforms operated by the incumbent telco Magyar Telekom, as well as in the digital packages of some cable operators. Its viewing figures will be monitored by AGB Hungary from this April, when it will also start to carry commercials.
TV2 is backed by ProSiebenSat.1 and one of the top two broadcasters in Hungary, competing head-to-head with the market leader RTL Klub.
It launched a channel known as FEM3 and targeting female viewers a year ago.
