BBC Worldwide Channels has announced a number of new distribution deals to expand the availability of BBC HD across Turkey.
BBC HD became part of the offering for Turkey’s first IPTV platform TTNET’s IPtivibu and has just launched as part of the Family package on DTH operator D-Smart, the largest digital platform for HD content in Turkey.
Ian McDonough, SVP and general manager EMEA, BBC Worldwide Channels, said in a statement: “I am delighted that BBC HD is now available to a wider Turkish audience through these new agreements with TTNET and D Smart. This is a fantastic achievement for our young business here, with the channel making its Turkish debut just six months ago and is now available through three major operators.”
BBC HD is fully subtitled in Turkish and made its debut in Turkey on Turksat cable in May 2010.
