Heavy snowfall prompted the Dutch football association KNVB to cancel the Ajax-Feyenoord football game, which was to be the first Dutch live 3D telecast. The game was due to take place on Sunday, December 19 with a live broadcast scheduled on the Astra 3D Demo channel.
Heavy snowfall disrupted traffic in The Netherlands, so the football association decided to postpone the game until a later date. Eredivisie Live, the premium football channel, Endemol Sports, Panasonic and SES-Astra worked together to bring the game in 3D.
Panasonic was to show the game at selected dealers across the country.
The game was the first Dutch football game to be covered in 3D. A special 3D camera team from United Broadcast Facilities was to shoot the game. However, the KNVB decided on Sunday morning to the postpone the game, which will now be played on January 19, 2011.
