ORF-Thek, the catch-up TV and VOD portal from the Austrian public broadcaster, will launch on Friday, December 17 on the iPad and iPhone. During next year the service will also be made available on other types of smart phones.
The ORF-Thek was launched one year ago and is now also made available on mobile to devices “to make the service not only available anytime, but also anywhere,” said the broadcaster. More than 70 programmes are available on demand as well as a number of live streams.
Thomas Prantner, project director ORF-online and new media, said in a statement: “The rapidly increasing distribution of smart phones makes mobile usage of multimedia content interesting and important.”
The ORF-Thek can be accessed directly without the need to download an App.
