HBO Central Europe has launched a broadband VOD service for subscribers to HBO Poland, available on any computer connected to the internet.
Known as HBO Go, it is initially being offered only to customers of INEA, the leading cableco in the Wielkopolska region of the country, but will eventually be rolled out across all 14 countries where HBO Central Europe currently operates.
HBO Go is a streaming service and can be viewed on digital IPTV or digital cable networks. It provides over 100 hours of programming a month, including a selection of HBO Original Productions available before they premiere on the usual HBO channels, with the offer being refreshed every week.
HBO Go was first launched last February in the US where it is available to all 38 million subscribers to HBO (or to its sister service Cinemax) at no additional cost. It is branded as the online video destination for authenticated HBO subscribers featuring over 600 hours of HBO programming.
Last October, Home Box Office announced that it is collaborating with Google TV to offer HBO Go, to be showcased in the Spotlight section of Google TV.
