The Polish cable operator Inea has launched a VOD service consisting of almost 300 film titles from such distributors as Syrena Films, SPI International Polska and Marc Dorcel.
The titles are being offered for between PLN4.99 (€1.24) and PLN9.99 each for a 24-hour period, though the 100 or so adult ones in the catalogue cost PLN11.99 each. A select number of movies are also being provided to viewers free of charge.
Reception of the service, which has initially been made available to subscribers of Inea’s Wygodny HD package, is through ADB-5810CD decoders. It will offered to those with a HD PVR from Q1 next year.
Inea is based in the western Polish city of Poznan and currently has 138,000 subscribers, half of whom receive its digital TV service.
Over half also receive its internet offer and at least 20,000 the operator’s telephony services.
