The Croatian incumbent telco T-HT has launched what is effectively the country’s third DTH platform.
The Deutsche Telekom says the service is very similar to its IPTV platform MAXtv, offering viewers such exclusive content as the Arenasport 1 and Arenasport 2 channels. They will also be able to receive the additional packages Sports, Sports Plus, HBO and Premium Plus and – in the near future – interactive services and HD channels already available to MAXtv subscribers.
The new service is distributed by Eutelsat’s Sesat 1 at 16 degrees East and enters a DTH market already served by Total TV and Digi TV.
The former was taken over by Austria’s BEWAG last week and is being integrated into the operations of BEWAG-owned B.net, the largest cable operator in Croatia.
