The Hungarian DTT platform MinDig TV will effectively become a national service this month, with the addition of 14 new sites raising the coverage to 95% of the population.
MinDig TV consists of two programme packages – MinDig TV, which consists of FTA channels, and MinDigTV Extra, containing encoded, pay-TV channels.
The former has been strengthened by the addition of HBO, which is offered as a standalone channel and can even be subscribed to with FTA services. AXN will also be made available to MinDig TV’s 120,000 subscribers, timeshared with euronews, later this month.
MinDig TV’s operator Antenna Hungária has also launched two promotion campaigns in the run up to Christmas. Anyone who buys a promotional MinDig TV receiver will obtain 10 additional channels for half a year.
MinDig TV Extra will meanwhile offer a half-priced set-top box or CA module, costing HUF9,900 (€34.9) and HUF4,990 respectively, for those who take out a one-year subscription.
