Austria’s BEWAG Group, the owner of Croatia’s leading cable operator B.net, has signed a landmark agreement with the investment fund Mid Europa Partners (MEP). In effect from today (December 1), it sees B.net take over the operations of Total TV, the DTH platform owned by MEP, in Croatia.
MEP has several key TV interests in the CEE region including the cable operator Aster in Poland and Serbia Broadband (SBB), which besides being the leading cable company in Serbia also distributes Total TV in the countries of the former Yugoslavia.
Total TV Croatia will now be integrated into B.net’s operations, strengthening the latter’s position as one of the top two providers of pay-TV services in Croatia.
The other is the incumbent telco T-HT, whose interests include the IPTV platform MAXtv.
In the DTH sector, services in Croatia are also provided by RCS/RDS-owned Digi TV.
