Movies from Sony Pictures and Nordisk Film are to being added to the Get VOD platform after two new agreements were signed by the Norwegian cableco.
Get Filmleie now boasts a library of more than 2,250 titles from some of the world’s leading studios. The operator has managed to secure more than 80% of the content under so called day&date release, allowing the titles to be added to VOD on the same day as the movies appear in video stores.
“Film enthusiasts demand both high quality films and a wide selection of titles and with all important studios in place we meet both these demands,” said Get CEO Gunnar Evensen. “The film industry has changed substantially since we launched our on-demand service back in 2008, and the number of day&date releases has increased dramatically. This has been a main contributor to the growth. The number of films rented in the last 12 months has more than doubled compared to the previous 12 months.”
TV series from Canal+ were added earlier in the year and Get has plans to further extend the availability of TV series on the platform.
