Tvinci Appoints Avidan Lamdan as CTO

November 24, 2010 10.01 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Tvinci, the pay-OTT video platform provider, has announced that it has hired TV technology visionary, Avidan Lamdan, as its new CTO and VP of research and development. As CTO of Tvinci, Avidan Lamdan will be responsible for developing and executing Tvinci’s technology strategy and leading its talented development team.

“The pace of OTT video is accelerating and service providers around the world are asking us to help them to find unique ways to monetize video content across multiple devices. Avidan’s deep engineering experience and his track record of helping leading pay-TV operators to deploy business model enabling technologies means he will be a valuable addition to our team. We are very pleased that he is joining us and proud that he recognises our leading position in the OTT market,” said Ofer Shayo, CEO, Tvinci, in a statement.

Avidan Lamdan joins Tvinci after 14 years at NDS, where he held a number of positions, most recently as technical director & line manager for VideoGuard DRM. At NDS he was actively involved in a number of industry shaping projects, including the development of the XTV PVR for BSkyB’s Sky Plus service, EPGs for a number of operators, and the expansion of TV to platforms beyond the set-top-box.

“Throughout my career I have worked at the forefront of technology and I am proud to have contributed to many game changing developments. Just as the arrival of digital transformed the TV in the 1990s, we are now seeing a new wave of change, driven by video over the internet and the proliferation of IP enabled devices. I am thrilled to be joining Tvinci at such an exciting time. The company has a great team and is already enabling its customer to explore new business models with Pay-OTT. I look forward to further expanding Tvinci’s capability and to increasing its technology lead,” said Lamdan.
