Romtelecom has upped the ante in the price war currently raging in Romania’s pay-TV industry between it and RCS/RDS and UPC.
The incumbent telco, which is backed by OTE, has introduced a new flexible offer known as “Buy 1 Get 3” under which most of its subscribers are given one of two choices.
The first allows them to receive two economic services (out of TV, internet and voice) for free if they pay for the third one and the second one economic service for free if they pay for two other eligible ones with an additional discount.
The eligible products in the offer include Dolce National Zero, which consists of 24 channels, with the first set-top box charged at €30 excluding VAT; and Dolce iNational Zero, with 27 channels, including two HD, and a set-top box.
Buy 1 Get 3 is being billed as a “crisis product” due to the harsh economic conditions currently prevailing in Romania.
Romtelecom has also introduced a new receiver with HD capabilities known as the Dolce+ PVR.
