The French broadcaster PureScreens has announced distribution agreements with French IPTV operators SFR, Free and Alice for the launch in Europe of “PureScreens HD Museum”.
It is the third channel launched by PureScreens in France, after PureScreens HD Nature on Free and Alice and the multi-thematic channel PureScreens HD on Orange.
Museum will broadcast 24/7 in high definition, free of commercial breaks, and will offer themed virtual exhibitions of renowned artworks. Each of these programmes will showcase 10 masterpieces from the collections of the world’s most prestigious museums: The National Gallery of London, The British Museum, Musée du Louvre, Musée d’Orsay, Centre Pompidou, The Uffizi Gallery of Florence, Munich’s Pinakothek, Madrid’s Prado, and many others. PureScreens’ digital archives boast over half a million artworks in total. Each piece will be supported by an audio commentary.
The channel will be available in SFR’s “Sélection” package and will be offered à la carte for €0.99 per month on Free and Alice. Discussions are under way with other European operators for distribution of the channel.
