French telecom operator SFR has announced it will offer satellite DTH to customers who are not within the reach of its IPTV service.
Frank Esser, CEO SFR, told Le Figaro the operator will launch a DTH offer; details to follow before the end of the year.
Customers will receive the Sagem DSD 86 HD Canal Ready satellite receiver for the TNTSat offer on Astra at 19.2 degrees East. On top of this basic offer, people can subscribe to CanalSat bouquets.
France Telecom has been offering for some time a similar service to its Orange customers with a hybrid Livebox comprising a satellite tuner.
Last year, SFR also started to sell internet via Ka band satellite using the Eutelsat Tooway service.
