Panasonic has entered into an agreement with the Polish web portal Iplex.pl that could provide a major boost to the take up of connected TVs in the country.
Rzeczpospolita reports that owners of Panasonic Viera Cast TV sets in Poland will by Christmas be able to watch up to 1,500 movies free of charge on Iplex.pl.
Iplex.pl was launched in 2008 and specialises in Polish, European and World movies, some of which are in HD.
In February this year it became the first such portal in Poland to offer content to viewers free of charge.
Poland has around 13.5 million TV households and the total number of TV sets sold each year amounts to around 1.5 million.
