Multiscreen television has brought us channels that show goldfish, fireplaces and episodes of Bonanza in perpetuity, but now Avia TV has become Britain’s first web TV channel devoted to cosmetic surgery.
In the ultimate launch promotion the channel has launched a search to find men and women who could receive up to £30,000 worth of free plastic surgery.
Avia TV, which seems ideal to watch by the fire as the nights draw in, will feature consultant plastic surgeons that have appeared on shows including Extreme Makeover, Embarrassing Bodies and The Ugly Face of Beauty.
“Cosmetic surgery is sometimes a misunderstood and often controversial industry so we wanted to devise a web channel dedicated to giving the facts to enable patients to make the right decisions for them,” said Peter Arnstein, consultant plastic surgeon at the McIndoe Surgical Centre and co-founder of Avia TV. “We never forget that the safety and welfare of patients is paramount. It Changed My Life will take care of people and, we hope, will show viewers how responsible surgery should be done.”
After its broadband debut the channel intends to launch a broadcast channel early in the New Year.
