Nej TV has strengthened its position in the Czech cable marketplace through yet another acquisition.
Quoted in E15, Nicolas Boisson, a spokesman for the company’s owners BKS Capital Partners, said that it had acquired a company named KT Prerov at the end of October. Previously owned by EMOS, the latter has 18,000 TV and 9,000 internet subscribers.
Earlier this year Nej TV also acquired KT Trinec and M-Roud, the latter of which is based in Ceske Budejovice.
Funding to the tune of €3 million for the acquisitions – the fee paid for KT Prerov has not been disclosed – has been obtained from the Central European investment group 3TS.
Nej TV is one of the largest cable operators in the Czech Republic after UPC.
According to Boisson, it currently has 75,000 TV, 25,000 internet and 9,000 telephony subscribers, and a cable market share of around 8%.
