UPC Nederland has announced it will add the catch-up TV service SBS Gemist before the end of the year. The on-demand portal will offer SBS 6 Gemist, Net 5 Gemist and Veronica Gemist.
During a press conference at this year’s IBC in Amsterdam, the Dutch cable operator already said it planned to add the catch-up service from the three Dutch SBS channels to its on-demand offer. With the addition of the SBS channels, UPC will now offer catch-up TV from all three major Dutch broadcasters, including RTL and the public channels.
The SBS Gemist service will include both free to view programming as well as series available on a transactional basis, much like programming on RTL Gemist. The on-demand service from the public broadcasters is included in the basic subscription fee. Depending on the type of subscription, viewers can go back three or ten days.
UPC Nederland offers a whole range of on demand programming from a large number of channels including Disney, Discovery, National Geographic, Nickelodeon, FoxLife, Comedy Central, Ajax TV and music clips from Xite.
