Numericable extends footprint on BBox

November 5, 2010 09.31 Europe/London By Robert Briel

The BBox fibre

Following an agreement between French cable network Numéricable and telecom operator Bouygues Telecom, the cabler is now launching a TV offer on the BBox, thereby extending its footprint across the country to all Bouygues Telecom fibre customers.

Under the name NumeriPASS, the French cabler offers a number of bouquets with up to 120 channels of which 15 are in HD. The bouquets include channels such as MTV, Eurosport, LCI, 13eme Rue, Teletoon, Canal J, Voyages and HD, including Eurosport HD, MTV HD and NRJ 12 HD.

The top tier bouquet NumeriPASS Platinium offers all channels for €58 a month; various thematic bouquets are available, such as PASS Cinéma, PASS Découverte and PASS Jeunesse, with prices starting at €10 a month. A number of channels are also available a la carte, such as Mezzo, TPS Star, XXL, with prices from €1.50 and upwards.

From early 2011, Numéricable also plans to offer a number of catch-up TV service to BBox owners taking the TV service. The new services will sit alongside the current BBox TV offer from Bouygues Telecom itself.

The agreement between the two operators was signed last December and gives them access to each others networks. Numéricable has given Bouygues Telecom access to its nationwide fibre network and the cabler has now started to offer its TV product to Bouygues Telecom customers.
