Boxee has announced the launch of the long awaited Boxee Box by D-Link this November. The box was originally announced last December.
Last September, Boxee and D-Link decided to launch the box not just in the US and selected market, but the companies arranged for a worldwide release. Pre-orders have been available since last September. The Boxee Box was first shown at this year’s CES in Las Vegas.
On the evening of November 10, Boxee and D-Link will have a launch event in New York City to celebrate and demo the Boxee Box with Boxee 1.0, a new version of Boxee software that will initially be available only on the Boxee Box and will later roll out to Mac, PC and Linux.
The Boxee box is set to compete with other connected TV devices such as Google TV, Apple TV and others.
