The leading Czech/Slovak DTH platform Skylink will shortly introduce a multiroom service.
Parabola reports that customers will be able to access the service through a new NEXT card that will cost them an additional CZK80 a month in the Czech Republic or €3.30 a month in Slovakia.
The annual fee for the NEXT card, which may only be used in conjunction with the main Irdeto Plysys cards to receive Skylink, will be effectively that for 11 months, with the 12th month provided for free.
Skylink is operated as a joint venture by TradeTec (Czech Republic) and Towercom (Slovakia). Distributed by Astra from the 23.5 degrees East orbital slot, it had 1.2 million active smartcards as of last month.
