The German cable operator Kabel BW has reported strong growth during the third quarter of the year. At the end of September it had 259,000 pay-TV subscribers, up 39% from the year before (186,000). The number of internet and telephony customers grew by 29%, from 483,000 to 624,000.
The operator said 27% of its 2.3 million customers now take internet and telephony services, the highest of any German cable network operator.
“Our own pay-TV packages as well as the successful partnership with Sky have contributed significantly to this growth,” said Harald Roesch, CEO of Kabel BW, in a statement.
With 21 HD channels Kabel BW has the most extensive HD offerings of all German cable operators. “By December 2010, we will not only expand our HD offerings further, but also launch an extensive online video library,” announced Rösch.
