The German HD+ platform operated SES-Astra will soon make a legacy CAM available for reception on older HD receivers. The CAM, which includes the HD+ smart card and a one-year subscription, will cost €99.
The legacy CAM is intended for HD receivers with a CI slot, but first a software update is necessary in order to make HD+ reception possible. Humax has already made an update available for the German version of its iCord HD satellite receiver.
The legacy CAM can be used in about 55 receivers with a CI slot and a further 6 TV sets with built-in satellite receiver and CI slot from 17 different manufacturers (see the HD+ website for a complete list of all suitable receivers)
The HD+ platform offers the HD versions of RTL, Vox, ProSieben, Sat.1 and Kabel Eins, with Sport1 HD to follow in November.
