SeaChange has given details of the technology it is providing to Virgin Media as part of the beta trial of the Virgin Media Player that made its debut in July.
The company said the cableco had picked up on its video delivery system along with a managed service infrastructure providing a fully-managed outsourced service infrastructure for multi-screen video services with the ability to migrate to in-house deployments. Subsiduary On Demand Group is providing content management services, including content transcoding and processing to initially provide content in nine video formats for adaptive streaming for PC and mobile.

The Virgin Media trial includes content from ITV, Living, Disney, Cartoon Network, National Geographic, Discovery, MTV, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon.
