MTV plans to launch up to four new channels in Poland, one of which will be in HD, by the middle of next year.
Quoted in Rzeczpospolita, Bartosz Witak, VP MTV Networks International Emerging Markets, said that the first of these channels is Nick Junior, which is ready to make its debut at any time. The others are Nick HD and channels aimed at male and female viewers.
MTV may also in due course launch a 3D channel.
These plans come on the back of strong growth in the thematic channel sector in Poland as a whole, with ad spend in H1 this year being 59% up on the corresponding period in 2009.
