IP & TV Forum – ISTANBUL. Turkey has taken its first tentative steps in IPTV courtesy of TT Net, a subsidiary of the incumbent telco Türk Telekom.
According to Tahsin Yilmaz, the company’s CEO, IPTivibu made its debut almost two weeks ago and follows on from a successful web TV service named Tivibu that launched in February and has already secured over 400,000 subscribers.
He added that IPTivibu is currently offering viewers 101 linear channels (the number will grow in the future), along with a wide choice of interactive services.
TT Net started off as an ISP but aims to become a full service company offering quad play services.
