Slovenian DTT takes shape

October 8, 2010 08.18 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Norkring and Prva TV have signed an agreement paving the way for the carriage of TV3 on Slovenia’s second DTT multiplex.

The multiplex, known as ‘B’, made its debut this September and carries commercial channels. It currently reaches 85% of the population through 20 transmitters, though this will rise to around 90% with the addition of six more when the network is complete.

TV3 will appear on ‘B’ on November 1, and according Christian Skottun, CEO of Norking, the multiplex, which has capacity for seven national and three regional content providers, should be full by the end of December.

Slovenia’s first DTT multiplex ‘A’ is operated by the national public broadcaster RTV Slo and the country is due to complete ASO on December 1 this year.

Prva TV has been wholly owned by Modern Times Group (MTG) since mid-2006.
