Sky Deutschland will launch ESPN America HD on October 27, bringing the total number of HD channels on the German satellite DTH platform to 11. ESPN America in SD is already part of Sky Deutschland’s Sky Welt Extra bouquet.
ESPN America will broadcast live coverage of Major League Baseball (MLB World Series), the American Football League NFL and the NHL ice hockey league.
Sky Deutschland now offers four HD channels with sports, with Sky Sport HD 1, Sky Sport HD 2 and Eurosport HD. The platform also comprises Discovery HD, History HD, National Geographic HD, Sky Cinema HD, Sky Cinema Hits HD, Sky Action HD and Disney Cinemagic HD.
ESPN America HD launched in the UK last June and has since also become available in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
