Russia’s Dalsvyaz, which is based in the far east of the country, ended the second quarter with 112,840 IPTV subscribers, or 50,600 more than a year earlier.
This impacted strongly on its income, to which interactive digital TV services contributed R181.3 million (€4.5 million) in the first half of the year, as opposed to R106.2 million in the same period in 2009.
Dalsvyaz also saw growth in the take-up of its broadband internet service, the number of subscribers at the end of this June amounting to 481,576, or 108,383 more than a year earlier.
Dalsvyaz looks on track to reach 125,000 IPTV subscribers well before the end of this year. It is already, along with Comstar-UTS, one of the leading providers of IPTV services in Russia.
