The Czech Republic appears to be well on track in its transition to digital broadcasting, which should be completed on November 11 next year.
HN reports that nationally, Czech Television (CT), TV Nova and Prima TV can already be received in digital form by 89.4% of the population, or over 30 percentage points more than this time last year. While 39% of people were then able to receive CT, TV Nova and Prima TV in analogue, the figure is now down to 14.5%.
CT’s DTT multiplex currently covers 99% of the population, or five percentage points more than at the start of the year. The country’s second and third multiplexes meanwhile cover 89.5% and 84.4% respectively, while the fourth, operated by Telefónica O2, still only reaches around 22%.
