Russia’s Comstar-UTS has added VOD to its Stream TV on PC service in Moscow. It allows subscribers to the service to watch movies on their PCs, with the cost of each one, from R49 (€1.24) upwards, deducted from their accounts.
No additional equipment is required to receive the service, which will update its catalogue on a weekly basis.
Local industry sources believe the new service is unlikely to make a major impact on the marketplace due to the high level of video piracy in Russia.
