Irdeto is to supply its conditional access (CA) system to CityHomeNet, the leading provider of internet and pay-TV services in the Novosibirsk region of Russia.
The solution will be implemented within NMSK, a service subsidiary of CityHomeNet, which delivers its services via satellite.
Russia has a growing pay-TV market, with one source (Discovery Research) putting the number of subscribers receiving services at 18.5 million as of the middle of last year. The market grew by 15% in 2009 to over $1 billion (€775.2 million).
