The new Russian channel Sport-1 will be distributed by the country’s leading cable operator National Cable Networks in Moscow from tomorrow (August 14).
According to ComNews, the service, which will include Barclays Premier League football in its offer, will become the 37th channel in the operator’s social package, thereby reaching 2.5 million homes. It will subsequently also be added to its social package in St Petersburg, thereby reaching over one million more households.
Sport-1 is operated by the state broadcaster VGTRK and will be officially launched tomorrow, the start of the 2010-11 Premier League season.
