Romania’s RCS/RDS has acquired the rights to the Slovak premier (Corgoñ) football league.
According Parabola, matches from the league will now be carried on the new channel Digi Sport, which is currently undertaking test transmissions but should make its full debut on August 14. This will coincide with the start of the English Premier League, which will be the main attraction on the channel.
The DTH platform Digi TV is believed to have between 200-220,000 subscribers in Slovakia. Its operator RCS/RDS is reported to have paid up to $40 million (€30.3 million) for the rights to the English Premier League.
