Mobile operator 3 is launching a mobile TV subscription on demand offer for its customers in Italy. The service, the first of its kind in the country, is managed by the On Demand Group (ODG) that runs a similar service for 3 in the UK.Roberto Forte, Mobile TV, Portal & Vas Director at 3 Italia, said, “This platform gives us the ability to offer true on-demand TV, bringing one of the most popular types of television to our mobile customers. The TV: On Demand service will allow our customers to watch their favourite programmes when and where they want to.”
Details of the content line-up are being kept under wraps for the time being, but are expected to include a selection of popular comedy and drama.
3 Italia will use On Demand’s Adrenalin video delivery platform and the VZ content management platform.
