Eutelsat has appointed David Bair as its chief technical officer. He joins the company from EchoStar Satellite Services, where he was senior VP of space programmes and operations.
Bair has also held several other positions in the satellite industry including VP and chief engineer of commercial space programmes at Lockheed Martin Commercial Space Systems; and programme manager and chief engineer at General Electric AstroSpace.
Commenting on Bair’s arrival at Eutelsat, Michel de Rosen, the company’s CEO said: “David’s long experience and considerable skill sets, notably in the satellite field, will further reinforce the exceptional levels of competence already concentrated at Eutelsat. Technical excellence is core to the service we provide our clients and we are committed to paying it our highest attention as we pursue our objectives to expand resources and capabilities.”
