Canal Digital lost 15,000 DTH subscribers in the second quarter of 2010 as the post ASO squeeze in the Nordic region continued to play its part.
The Telenor Satellite Broadcasting platform has managed to maintain revenue growth through a combination of price increases and the sale of advanced services. The cable TV division has also played a part, increasing broadband internet subscriptions during the quarter by 5,000 to 262,000.
Canal Digital Group reported 1,039,000 DTH subscribers and 713,000 cable TV subscribers. Second quarter revenues increased from NOK1,637 million to NOK 1,699 million.
Telenor’s Transmission & Encryption business benefitted from increased revenues following the consolidation of Norkring Belgie, though currency effects brought saw revenues increase to NOK592 million from NOK577 million.
Telenor Broadcasts total profit dipped slightly from NOK291 million to NOK289 million.
