Turksat Cable has added the international version of BBC HD to its channel line-up.
The BBC Worldwide Channels service offers a mix of British and international content in the HD format. Highlights include premier chat show The Jonathan Ross Show (pictured) which airs just three weeks behind UK transmission, the second series of BAFTA award-winning comedy Gavin and Stacey, escapist dramas Hotel Babylon, Sharpe’s Peril and Robin Hood, and factual documentaries Hiroshima and Nuclear Secrets.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for BBC Worldwide Channels to debut its blue chip HD content in one of Europe’s most exciting media markets,” said Ian McDonough, VP Commercial Development EMEA, BBC Worldwide Channels. “Turksat have shown how ambitious they are in leading developing the HD market in Turkey and we are proud to be a part of it.”
BBC HD is fully subtitled in Turkish. The channel is also available in Australia, Scandinavia and most recently launched in Poland.
Sister channel BBC Entertainment is available through the Turksat, TT Net and Digiturk TV platforms.
