UPC Polska has become the first cable operator in Poland to carry content from TVN in its VOD offer.
Wirtualne Media reports that as of today (July 15) UPC na Zadanie includes 500 clips from TVN serials, along with programmes from the channels TVN Style and TVN Turbo. Clips typically cost between PLN2-5 (€0.49-1.23) and are available for two days, while whole series cost from PLN10-15 and are offered for five days.
Speaking to Wirtualne Media, UPC Polska president Simon Boyd said that UPC na Zadanie plans to add HD content from TVN. It is also engaged in discussions with other broadcasters, among them publicly owned TVP, to obtain further content for its VOD service.
UPC na Zadanie was launched in December 2009 and already reaches 70% of UPC Polska households. The next city to receive the service will be Szczecin later this year.
TVN also supplies VOD content to its DTH platform n and the portal OnetVOD.
