UPC Czech incurred losses of CZK133 million (€5.24 million) in 2009, as opposed to CZK25 million the previous year.
According to figures published by E15 and obtained from the Collection of Documents, its retained profit from previous years stood at CZK924 million at the end of 2009, while its accumulated loss stood at CZK8.43 billion.
UPC Czech’s overall subscriber total last year rose by around 40,000 to 1.16 million. However, although over half (635,900) received TV services, the number was down by 45,000.
Telefónica O2, UPC Czech’s main rival, meanwhile posted a profit of CZK11.7 billion last year. Its IPTV service O2 TV had 138,000 subscribers.
