Spanish private broadcaster Antena 3 will launch a new digital terrestrial channel before the end of the year. Called Antena Nitro, it will aim to reach a male audience.
Antena 3 already offers two other channels on the national DTT network, Antena Neox for young viewers and Antena Nova with female skewed programming.
According to Silvio Gonzalez, CEO Antena 3, the start of broadcasts of the new channel is scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year.
As of April 3, Spanish public DTT networks reach 98% of the population, while the multiplexes broadcasting private channels have a potential reach of 95% of the population, according to figures from the government.
