German cable operator KabelBW has launched a mobile Internet access service following a wholesale deal with O2 Germany. Customers can buy the entry-level Laptop Power-Flatrate for €14.90 a month. Access speed is 7.2 Mbps
People who buy the service, which gives nationwide access to mobile Internet, have to buy the Huawai made USB stick for €29.90. The contract is for a minimum of 24 months. The regular price of the stick is €69.90.
For incidental usage, KabelBW offers the Laptop Tages-Flatrate, which costs €2.90 per day. The access allows for unlimited access, but only the first 200 MB download is available at the 7.2 Mbps speed; for the remainder a lower speed of 3 Mbps is automatically enforced. For these users, the USB stick costs €49.90.
Both packages are available to all KabelBW households in the state of Baden-Wurttemberg.
