New appointments at Sky Italia

June 15, 2010 09.56 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Raynaud

Sky Italia has made a series of new managerial appointments, which the company says reflects its ability to attract and promote some of the best people in the industry. The list is headed by Jacques Raynaud, currently co-chairman of Eurosport who becomes vice president of Sky Sport and Advertising.

The 43-year old joined Eurosport in 1994 as area manager for Central and Eastern Europe. He was appointed director of distribution and development in 2001 before being promoted to managing director in 2003 heading up distribution, advertising and development of the Eurosport Group.

Thanking Raynaud for his work at Eurosport, the network’s group chairman & CEO, Laurent-Eric Le Lay paid tribute to his former colleague: “Jacques has played a decisive role in the development of our group with many achievements to his name. I would like to thank him for these past 16 years of collaboration and I wish him every success in his new role”.

Marco Pistoni is promoted to director of sports channels and will report to Raynaud.

Andrea Scrosati is promoted to the new role of vice president of programming and promotions, where his new responsibilities will include managing the acquisition of movie rights and the control of entertainment channel Sky Uno. He will maintain his role in external communications, PR and promotions.

Laura Cioli, chief operating officer of Sky Italy, has expanded her role in the company, adding the management of third party channels to her portfolio. Paolo Agostinelli, director, third party channels and pay-per -view, and Riccardo Pugnalin, who is promoted to head the new directorate of public affairs, will both report to Cioli.

Kathryn Fink, director of programming, is returning to News Corp in an advisory role.
