Poland’s leading cable operator UPC Polska has added the public service channels TVP Sport, TVP Historia and TVP HD to its offer.
According to Wirtualne Media, they became available ahead of the start of the World Cup, allowing viewers to watch the tournament in HD. All three channels have been placed in UPC Polska’s Select HD and Max HD digital packages, with reception of TVP HD being through the UPC Mediabox HD receiver.
UPC is only the second cable operator in Poland to offer TVP HD, the other being INEA in the west of the country. The HD channel is also provided by the DTH platforms, Cyfra+, n, TNK and TP (Orange).
