UPC Austria has reached digital penetration of over 50% of all households on the UPC Telekabel network in Vienna, the cableco announced on Thursday. This compares with 17% digital cable penetration of all Austrian cable households, including IPTV homes.
UPC Austria offers 68 channels in its Digital TV Start tier and a total of 102 channesl in its Digital TV Plus package. Basic digital subscribers receive six HD channels, ORF1 HD, ORF2 HD, ARD HD, ZDF HD, arte HD, and Servus TV HD; for an extra €2 a month, people can receive a further four HD channels, Eurosport HD, National Geographic HD, Rush HD and Fashion HD.
