TeliaSonera International Carrier has announced that its Media Distribution Service (MDS) has been chosen by Philips Consumer Lifestyle as the technology platform for its Net TV VOD service.
Philips has begun to accelerate the rollout of its NetTV service having recently signed deals with a series of content partners including Videoland (The Netherlands, Belgium), Video Futur (France, Belgium) and Film2Home (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland).
TeliaSonera will manage the distribution of video content from upload through to the TVs themselves via its own fibre-optic network. Philips Net TV is available on the Philips 7000, 8000 and 9000 series TVs, as well as the Cinema 21:9.
