News channel aggregator Livestation has launched a new iPad friendly website for the Apple iPad in eight territories. And news channel France 24 said it iPad application has already been downloaded 8,000 times (including 6,000 downloads in the US) since its release on April 3.
The new Livestation website has now been optimised for iPad viewing. Livestation has made an HTML5 version of the site alongside the Flash one for general web consumption. Apple does not support Flash for the iPad, so with the move Livestation is now also viewable on the Apple device.
France 24’s three channels (English, French and Arab) are available as live streams on the iPad. The application also offers a wide range of videos available on demand in the three languages (magazines, debates, special reports).
In Germany, ProSiebenSat.1’s SevenOne Intermedia has just released a special iPad App for its news channel N-24, called N-24 HD.
In the UK, the BBC has made the iPlayer available for the iPad, which includes live streaming of all the BBC channels including BBC News 24.
