MTVNHD will launch in Malta on the quad play telco network Melita on June 1. It will also expand its reach in both Switzerland and Poland.
In Switzerland, Cablecom (UPC Switzerland) will start carrying MTV HD and at the same time will add 150 series episodes to its VOD portal. Meanwhile in Poland, the channel will start to be carried on Vectra, the country’s second largest operator.
The move marks further expansion of MTVNHD following the addition of the HD channels to the line-up of UPC Nederland. The channel features programming from MTV and Nickelodeon including MTV Unplugged, MTV World Stage and VH1 Storytellers as well as awards shows such as the MTV Video Music Awards and the MTV European Music Awards.
Cablecom is also adding 150 episodes of series from both MTV and Nickelodeon including South Park, 16 & Pregnant, SpongeBob Squarepants, Avatar: The Legend of Aang and the House Anubis.
